During the 50's Peg started painting while living in Saudi Arabia, but after returning to the States, her time was consumed with a growing family and there was little time left to pursue her new-found hobby.
In 1973, with the children grown, Peg and her husband returned to Arabia for another 6 years. Finally able to devote hours every day to painting, she went prepared with rolls of canvas and enough paints and brushes to last a lifetime. What had started as a hobby became an obsession. Her paintings reflected the Arabian scene and they became popular as souvenirs for Americans, Europeans, and Koreans to purchase when returning to their respective homelands.
Upon returning to the US Peg and her husband began showing at juried shows throughout the country. Some of the shows included Fort Worth Main Street, Cottonwood, and Denton. There were shows in Scottsdale and Prescott AZ, Georgia, Colorado, as well as numerous shows in Texas. After being accepted as a member of the Texas Wild Bunch, Peg showed in their shows as well. After her husband's death in '91, Peg continued the circuit, but after moving to Harlingen in '96, with age making it somewhat more difficult, she sold her van and now limits her shows to the local area. Some of her paintings reflect her travels, others are sentimental with reflections of her childhood and some are of things that are in tune with her sense of humor.
Peg hopes her art will evoke the same feelings for the viewer that motivated her as she created her art.
